Today marks eight years since the passing of our good friend, Pete Fox. With Pete's legacy on our minds, we are excited to share a heartwarming update on the impact of your giving and a reminder to circle January 17, 2026 on your calendar for next year's tournament.

Less than months 6 months since this year's event, there is already so much good happening! Keep reading to learn more about the joy and memories created for pediatric cancer patients, as well as the remarkable advancements in Ewing sarcoma research.

None of this life-changing impact would be possible without you - Thank You!

Improving the Lives of Pediatric Cancer Patients:

Dream Update

With the amazing support of Jacksonville-based Dreams Come True and the generosity of our 2025 Gator Good Guys' donors, we are pleased to share that 15 pediatric cancer patients from Northeast Florida have been selected as 'Dreamers'! Many of these 'Dreams' have already been experienced (see below), with more remaining excursions planned for this summer.

From far away trips to Alaska and Yellowstone Park, once in a lifetime Caribbean cruises, VIP Disney/Orlando experiences, to an NBA All Star Game and ultimate shopping extravaganzas, these patients and families will be forever impacted by the power of a dream and the comforting knowledge that people in their community truly care.

Inspiring Philanthropy in the Next Generation

Last month, the Gator Golf Team hosted a ‘Dream Reveal Party’ for 11-year-old cancer patient, Destinee, and her family in preparation for their upcoming VIP Disney/Orlando Excursion. Recently completing a grueling treatment plan for Burkitt lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Destinee and her family enjoyed every minute of the celebration and their time with the team!

With the ongoing support of Coach JC Deacon, the team continues to deepen their personal involvement with this mission, creating lifelong lessons about the importance of giving back.

Ewing Sarcoma Research Update

In March, Lisa Kavalieros (Gator Committee/GFC BOD member) & Susan Marshall (GFC staff) were invited to attended Beat Childhood Cancer's 2025 Annual Research Consortium Meeting.

Joining 150 researchers, oncologists, industry executives, and advocates from around the world, Lisa and Susan received impact updates and participated in discussions about evolving research and clinical trials for patients facing Ewing sarcoma and other pediatric solid tumor cancers.

The team from GFC was particularly impressed with the record pace the consortium is achieving in releasing clinical trails from the lab phase directly to patients in clinic, as well as providing precision medicine analysis and treatment options to families facing rare and aggressive cancers today!

Beat Childhood Cancer Research Consortium's 2024 Impact:

Up next in 2025, with support from proceeds of this year's Gator Good Guy Invitational, researchers are working to open a clinical trial combining the drug DFMO, recently approved by the FDA, with standard of care therapies for Ewing sarcoma and osteosarcoma.

CONGRATULATIONS!

We can't end this impact update without acknowledging the phenomenal performance of the Gator Men's Golf Team in this year's NCAA Division 1 Championship. Your Gator Good Guy family was cheering you on throughout the long holiday weekend and was beaming with pride yesterday as you achieved a stellar Semi-Final finish.

It was one heck of a season!
