OUR GRANT HISTORY

Where does the money go?  Golf Fights Cancer is committed to harnessing the collective fundraising power of the entire golf community to make tangible differences across the cancer community.  Specifically, GFC makes targeted donations for services, equipment, research, and/or amenities that make an immediate positive impact on treatment and the experience for both the patient and family.  To date, we’ve granted $14.5 Million in funding to over 85 different cancer-related charities.

2024 Goal: $2,000,000 in Grants

Apryle Showers  ($10,000) Providing respite getaways for cancer patients in Northeast Florida.

Beat Childhood Cancer ($100,000) Funding for Ewing sarcoma research, a rare pediatric cancer with limited funding streams and historically poor outcomes to expand treatment options, improve patient quality of life, and increase survival rates. Made in memory of Pete Fox.

Camp Casco ($25,000) Providing long-term support to pediatric cancer survivors and their families to help them get back to childhood and thrive after cancer.

Chad Tough ($10,000) Providing one-on-one support for families facing DIPG/DMG in memory of Danny Nickerson.

Dana Farber Cancer Institute ($260,000) Supporting research efforts of Dr. Patrick Wen at the Center for Neuro-Oncology in memory of Virginia (Ginger) Hood Dreier.

Dana Farber Cancer Institute ($160,000) Supporting glioblastoma research directed by Dr. David Reardon and Dr. Gilbert Youssef in honor of Dan Warn and Kyle Smith and in memory of Bruce Gold, Dean Jarrett and Don Wynns.

Fisher House Boston ($20,000) Toward housing cancer-fighting veterans and their families while they are being treated at one of Boston’s hospitals.

Joe Andruzzi Foundation ($36,000) Providing help, hope, and a reason to smile for New England cancer patients and their families by contributing financial support when it is needed most.

Let’s Win Pancreatic ($150,000) Helping to break down barriers between patients, researchers, and doctors so that everyone at risk or diagnosed with pancreatic cancer has easy access to current information about the latest and best treatment options available. Made in memory of Kevin Giblin.

LIVESTRONG at the Hockomock YMCA ($60,000) Providing programming for cancer survivors and their families seeking to regain health, build strength, and connect with other cancer survivors.

Yale School of Medicine ($20,000) Toward the research efforts of Dr. Kiran Turaga focused on appendix cancer in memory of Dr. Thomas J. Kalista.
